Day Twenty-six: Moosehead camping trip conclusion

Well, this will be my last post regarding my camping trip! :) I promise!

I have spent the bulk of today cooking; I made mac & cheese and mini cupcake cheesecakes! They look so yummy! I will post pictures and my recipes on Saturday.

This first set of pictures is from my first night camping: the sunset. About ten minutes before the sun went down, I grabbed the camera and hubby and we walked down to the shoreline. It was beautiful!

This chocolate lab was down at the waters edge, too. He was awesome enough to pose a little for me! :)

There were lots of boats, in all colors.

This is the fresh water spring we get water from while we're camping.

Scenery pics are one of my favorites.

This tree grew around the rock at it's base. I <3 it!

Moose & Deer!

That's it for today. I hope you enjoyed my last set of camping pictures. I had a blast while we were up north and I cannot wait to go back up!

See you all on Saturday!

Day Twenty-Five: A flowery feeling

I am feeling quite excited today. The excitement and anticipation of my upcoming mini-vacation is bubbling over! I have been slacking on the photo taking front lately, because I have been super busy at work and when I get home i really just want to relax! I am feeling quite vibrant today though, so here are some flowers that I have been seeing around town.

I love the translucent petals on this one!
This is a broom plant. I was excited to catch this bee in action, although the clarity is not great since it is a cellphone pic!

I think lilacs are my third favorite flower behind beach roses and pink lilies. They are only around for such a short time but they smell fabulous! My grandmother always holds out to pick hers, hoping they will hold out until Memorial day but they rarely do. We have always lived in houses that were surrounded by huge purple bushes. I miss them now that I live in an apartment complex.
They are planting flowers today at my work! Maybe that's why I am in a flowery mood...

This is the tree in front of my house. Isn't it pretty?

I love spring! The color and brilliance of everything coming back to life against a backdrop of winter's decay. Summer is just about here now and everything is really colorful and with the summer comes green leaves and most of the flowers die off in the heat, but I enjoy the colors while they last!

See you Friday!

Day twenty-four: Moosehead camping trip, part 2

Good evening, ladies and gents! I organized some more of my camping trip photos, and they are ready to go!

In other news, today is my baby brother's birthday! The little man is 10 today! I remember the day he was born: I was a Junior in high school, at a cultural festival. I had to leave early because my step-mom went into labor and had my dad's first and only son.

Also in today's news, my husband and I got two kittens yesterday! Here they are:

They are both boys: Oscar & Mugsy! They are 8 weeks and so cute! :)

And now for some camping pics!

Rock formations like these are man-made and usually are used to mark something along the dirt roads. I don't know what these ones are marking, though.

The sun in the sky is so pretty and classic.

Just before sunset on the lake. <3 it!

The clouds in the sky created awesome shadows on the mountain!

The sky over the water was fantastic! :)

More pictures of our campfire! We burned hollow logs and they looked so great!

That's all for today. I have more pics of the camping trip coming on Thursday! Come back then!
